And so it's been another of the dreadful day of each year

And it's none other than the day when your age+=1. Haha not exactly dreadful as in the title, but when it arrives u can't help but heave a sigh. But it's been a nice day spent mostly at home and with my family.. it felt rather strange at first without celebrating the day with friends, but it turned out to be a nice simple way of celebrating. Dining out and cutting a cake :)

But somehow this bday seemed to be full of slack time.. maybe it's because i simply refuse to do any tutorials and would rather just do something else. And tt's when i chanced upon my old fren's blog while blog hopping. Well, glad that she's been doing well since the last time i met her before she flew off. Somehow weirdly i still feel the same. Which makes me really think i need a transplant.. for my heart.

Anyway, i got these presents from my family hahaha.

Also, thanks to Odac ppl who celebrated my bday in advance together with another 2 march babies yesterday with a delicious swensens cake. Received a tshirt as a present too which luckily isn't as big as it looks.

Well, thanks to everyone who remembered this day, really appreciate it.

Another jazz lesson today, damn inspiring! Sian nowadays, every week's only highlight will be my jazz lesson and maybe some tennis on fri. Other than that, it's a rather mundane life cos of all the work; no chance to do anything actually.

But recently, somehow it's qt surprising or rather heartening to realise i'm not old after all. hahaha.

Occasion1:

After a hair cut, at the cashier table, the hairstylist asked, " Student?"
"Yea, student."
Then without any pretense, he asked again, "Secondary school?"

Occasion 2:

Went for lesson and my teacher stepped in to the room. He greeted me and said,
"Hey hello darren.. Haha, everytime i meet you, u remind me of the army and the guardroom.. and u know, all the chionging in the field.."
"....."

So it seems that i look like a sec sch guy or some guy still serving the army. Hahah realise it's not anywhere close to a uni student going into year 3. Haha not bad huh.. wonder if it's a good or bad thing. I'll see it as a good thing hahaha.

Missed a couple of concerts and performances recently- Bob james, Jason mraz at esplanade, and some David gomez guy in sch. Either can't find people who are as interested before the tix were sold out or i had something on last minute. Hope to catch such performances in the future when i'm more FREE.

And so you sailed away

Haha it's the time again when I'm in a nostalgic mood.

As i was driving home today, seeing all the willful small kids from the neighbouring houses playing happily together outside my house brings back really fond memories of my childhood. Which unfortunately was like more than a decade ago. Yup MORE than a decade. I remember those times when I'd eagerly look forward to the evenings when my sis will join me to go cycling or play with neighbours and friends. Exploring new places, different playgrounds, trying new stunts, soccer, badminton, the list goes on and on.. when the thought of actually growing up to become an adult was still way too far fetched. Yet, everything now seemed to be on fastforward mode since then. Time passes so fast that you'll be surprised how many events or activities have actually taken place in your life so far. Haha so that is how it is to live here in Singapore.

Anyway, LnP was quite fun considering we managed to make it top 10! Haha and the highlight was how we started the race.. thanks to me hahaha.

Really quite impressed by my jazz teacher, aspiring to play jazz that well soon. Haha tomorrow's LnP 2006, taking part in the team relay for fun but of course.. haha aiming not to be last.

Sch life is extremely boring nowadays, with around 1 more month to the exams. Tests, tuts, lab reports, term paper, etc are contributing to a bottleneck situation in my head hahaha. But i realise its worse to feel that u're damn free now, cos it means u're in deep trouble.

Looking for ppl to catch West side story.. anyone?

Anyway i just realised some things once broken, it's probably difficult for anyone to ignore the obvious cracks. Just hoping for the better.

They're back. My testimonials, that is. Haha no big deal actually, cos they aren't that many anyway.

Anyway, I finally caught my first movie in months on Sat - Munich.

Quite a good movie by spielberg i think. Amidst all the killing plots and violence by the everlasting supply of terrorists, the movie hightlights how evil revenge is and how it can be the cause of the neverending terrorism and how it even acts as a double-edged sword. Questions of loyalty vs morality, ego vs rationality.

If i had the time, i'd wanna watch brokeback too.

Gd luck to yk for his stardust semis on fri. Ok time for term paper.

Mystery of the missin testimonials

Was bored yesterday so i logged into friendster to look at updates. But i realised all my testimonials (though it's not that many) have vanished! It read "No testimonials yet".

WHERE HAVE MY TESTIMONIALS DISAPPEARED TO?

Anyway, yesterday resembled a typical day during the holidays haha. School was about 1h30min for me and 0h for most of the others haha. Met the others at 3+pm and played tennis at src after school and it's becoming a friday routine now. Fun but the sun was blazing. Then it was ktv at clementi. It was nice meeting 2 friends whom I've not hanged out with after quite a long time. It was fun singing yet there's still awkwardness. Hopefully over time, things will get better as i still cant help feeling a sense of guilt.

Ok, it's tutorial saturday today haha.

Ever wondered how fragile life is?

Just read a disturbing article and it made me think a lot. Another inspiration for a post.

"Germany reported the first known case in Europe of H5N1 bird flu infecting a cat, a worrying new development as the virus sweeps past protective measures in large swathes of the world. "

"Experts fear that H5N1, which has killed more than 90 people since 2003, may mutate into a form that can pass between humans, launching a pandemic that could kill millions. "

"..Some 40 countries have now been hit by the H5N1 strain."

Its quite alarming to realise how close this danger is to us. I don't think we're talking about years here, it's probably a matter of months and days before the media has no choice but to report how serious this bird flu crap is going to affect all of us. Have u ever wondered how the media might be reporting about this in a mild manner, probably so as not to alarm everybody or defame any government or dampen the global economies. I always have the impression that news reports are churned out only when the reality is too obvious to be hidden or when a disaster is almost knocking on the door. Anyway it's just some random thoughts...

Whatever it is, I just feel that it can be quite sad if people around the world are unaware of this calamity (that's in fact almost certain to take place) and lose their lives not fulfilling what they've always wished to do. I think it's natural for all of us to rid ourselves of additional worry and by hoping the bird flu will somehow or rather be stopped miraculously. Unfortunately, most of us know it's a superficial assumption and viruses evolve for survival and not die overnight.

So somehow after reading these news reports, it made me realise how we shouldn't think that we all have at least 65 years of life granted to us. It's time we(I) start to live each day without regrets and fulfill all wishes and hopes that we(I) may have.

Life's fragile, stop procrastinating and live life (no matter how long) to the fullest.

Super relieved.

Miraculously something dreadful didnt materialise. Thank god for that man. Pure elation when I got the news yesterday night until I almost wanted to celebrate! Yeah but then there's a test later today and I haven't much prepared as usual.

I just hope Poo will be lenient and not become everybody's enemy haha
