Everyone takes a break

Have You taken a break? Everything doesn't seem to go the right way (my way) recently. It's naive I know but I'm very tempted to link it to the black cats which crossed my paths these days. Strange. Maybe I'm too used to having everything falling into the right place somehow; like for some unfounded reason, I used to be able to predict outcomes pretty accurately. Not recently though. Like my fyp, it's not progressing as I thought it will, even after spending so many hours.

Anyway, today was one of the days when I'll want to visit the supermarket just to shop for good food to prepare. And surprisingly, there was a queue in the usually-quiet cold storage opposite my house. It was actually this munchy donut shop that shares the premises with the supermarket. The donuts were not bad I must say. I was also reminded of Children's day by a kid who was singing "Sama sama maju de hadapan ...". Brought back a lot of memories.

And the last weekend was spent on this kayaking expedition organised by OSA, assisted by odac. It was supposed to be 'round ubin' but what we did was just 'punggol skirting' and camping at punggol beach. But it was fun still, with a well-budgeted BBQ and a good tan for everyone haha. But there was also too much photography for our own good too haha.

Seems like I'm back to feeling like a student after all. I finally have a direction for my FYP, projects are pressing for me to work on them and deadlines are drawing closer every day. It's the mid semester break next week and life's going to get busier after that, with graded assignments and quizzes staring at me. Finally everything is coming back (after a good time overseas last semester) - The realisation that I'm still a student; my principles of trying to do well in everything I do. I was convinced initially that maybe I needn't work too hard for this year and I could devote time to lead a more fulfilling life. And then it all seemed contradictory - I can't afford to lose my drive and it'll be a downward spiral if I start this lackadaisical attitude towards my studies. So then, along with having fun and enjoying life, looks like I've renewed my direction for this year.

And Facebook seems to be stirring up a storm among my friends nowadays. So many people are becoming part of the network recently. All the crappy applications to become vampires and zombies, to headbutt people just to gain superpoke levels, to be involved in star wars, to give beers to fellow drinkers aka jiu guis, are actually damn good pasttimes haha. Very effective boredom reducers. And hmm so it seems highly possible that I'm likely to get conned by old ladies in Las Vegas one day hahaha.

And I'm so tempted to visit Cebu or Bangkok or Krabi, and Hongkong at the end of the year! Let's see who's interested to go as well.

Enough is enough

4th of Sept. Not a good day though, but at least I've learnt the truth. I'm thankful for that and I'm sorry.
